The back of this card reads: Nestled in the Bitterroot Valley, in the shadow of St. Mary’s Peak, stands Historic St. Mary’s Mission. Fr. Pierre De Smet, a Jesuit priest, founded the Mission in 1841. The State of Montana grew from the settlement of St. Mary’s, which was later named Stevensville.  The town holds the distinct honor of being the place “Where Montana Began”.  The well-preserved buildings and artifacts of the Mission Complex give visitors a historic look back at the beginnings of the birth of the State and the settlement of the West..

Blodgett Canyon from the Overlook Folded Greeting Card
The back of the card reads:  Blodgett Canyon is located West of Hamilton Montana and can be seen from the town itself.  One of the many drainages that flow into the valley floor from the Bitterroot Range of the Rocky Mountains.  These canyons were carved by glaciers thousands of years ago and continue to be eroded by less dramatic forces today.  Many consider this canyon to be the Yosemite of the Bitterroot valley with its high vertical cliffs of solid grey granite.

Fall at the Daly Mansion Fold card
The back side of the card reads:  The summer home of Copper Baron and millionaire Marcus Daly, his wife Margaret and their four children has evolved from a two-story farmhouse into a 24,000 square foot mansion with 25 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley.

The home was called Riverside by the family and frequent guests. At one time there was a small town named Riverside located a couple of miles northwest of the property near the river.  With the founding of Hamilton in the 1890’s most of the businesses of Riverside moved to Hamilton and the town disappeared.

Today the mansion still entertains guests from all around the country - whether it is tours, weddings or just relaxing on the covered deck and playing checkers. Riverside remains an amazing, historic get away for all ages.

Tamarack Carpet the floor of the forest
Tamarack (Larch) is the only conifer to lose its needles every fall.  The needles fall and create a carpet on the forest floor.  Although the tree looks dead after the needles have fallen off the tree is still very much alive.  Larch groves create a yellow and green mosaic effect on the face of the Bitterroot range of the Rocky Mountains every fall.  The wood is tough and durable, but also flexible in thin strips, and was used by the Indians for making snowshoes and other products where toughness was required.  The natural crooks located in the stumps and roots are also preferred for creating knees in wooden boats.  The above information is printed on the back of the card.  This 5" by 7" card comes with an envelope, a clear plastic cover, and is certified "Made In Montana."  The price includes shipping and handling.

Skalkaho Falls Folded Greeting Card
Skalkaho Falls is located near the summit of Skalkaho Highway (Hwy. 38).  The road was constructed in 1924 to link the Bitterroot Valley with the Flint Creek Valley and follows an old Indian trail through the mountains.  Skalkaho highway is the last unpaved highway in the United States today.  Because of heavy snows the road is always closed in the winter months.  The narrow, windy, steep mountain road is not for the faint of heart.  The above information is located on the back of the card.  This 5" by 7" card in blank on the inside.  It comes with an envelope and clear plastic cover.  The card is certified "Made In Montana" and the price includes shipping and handling.
